9 students in the 3rd year of the Nutritional and Medical Science Seminar in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics made an oral presentation at the 15th International Symposium on Computer Science in Sport (IACSS 2025) .
On September 12-15, 2025, 9 third-year students of the Nutrition and Medical Science Seminar (Professor Taiji Ito's Seminar) developed their research on sports and health community development in Kamakura City and the Kamakura exercise application "KaMap," which received an award for excellence in the Sports and Health Community Development Design Student Competition 2023 organized by the Japan Sports Agency, and made an oral presentation at "the 15th International Symposium on Computer Science in Sport (IACSS 2025)" held at Tokyo Gakugei University.
At the conference, they visited Ajinomoto National Training Center on September 13th, and in their oral presentation titled "Development of a Kamakura Exercise Application "KaMap" for Individualized Wellness: Expanding into "KaMap Junior" as an application for elementary school students combining school meals with exercise courses" on September 15th, the 9 students proposed exercise courses for families that take advantage of Kamakura's rugged terrain and "KaMap Junior, " a Kamakura exercise and nutrition app that can measure calories consumed using AI meal-photo analysis and calories burned using a wearable device. After the presentation, there were questions from the audience about the reason for choosing Kamakura City as the stage and the future release schedule of "KaMap Junior." In the future, we will aim to disseminate sports and health community development around the world.
In this way, the Nutrition and Medical Science Seminar will contribute to the development of Kamakura, a city of sports and tourism, from the perspective of sports nutrition.
