Kamakura Women's University

Kamakura Women's University is located in Kamakura, an 800-year-old city, where the Kamakura Shogunate was based from the end of 12th century to early 14th century. The area is full of traditional arts and cultures.
The university was founded in 1943 as a specialized training institution for the education of women, and now has more than 4100 students and 500 teaching and administrative staffs including 3 affiliated schools and a kindergarten.
We encourage women to seek fulfilling lives with self-reliance and a strong will to pursue their possibilities.
We educate students to develop professional careers to become specialists who can take an important role in the society responding to the changing needs in the world today.
Continuing to be faithful to the founding spirit of the university, "Gratia et Ministerium" (Gratitude and Ministration), Kamakura Women's University continues to make great efforts to teach students with the prominent faculty and updating curriculums.
