Kamakura Women's University is located in Kamakura, an 800-year-old city where the Kamakura Shogunate was based from the end of 12th century to early 14th century. The area is full of traditional arts and cultures.
The university was founded as a specialized training institution for the education of women and now has more than 4100 students in enrollment and 500 teaching and administrative staffs including 3 affiliated schools and a kindergarten.
We encourage women to seek to lead fulfilling lives with self-reliance and a strong will to pursue their possibility.
We educate students to develop professional carriers and support them to become specialists who can take an important role in the society responding to the changing needs in the world today.
